Brussels: Head of NATO Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday confirmed the call for “negotiated settlements” with the Taliban in Afghanistan, recognizing the country facing a “very challenging” security situation when foreign troops left.
“The security situation in Afghanistan remains very challenging, and requires negotiated settlement.
NATO will continue to support Afghanistan, including funding; civil presence; and training abroad,” Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter after speaking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
