Bhubaneswar: In the past eight years, Bikramjit Bhowmik (51), who is a regional manager of the Chit Valley fund company, which is doubtful in Odisha, has been captured by the economic wing (EOW) from the state crime branch from East Midnapore District on Monday.
The Rose Valley group was accused of deceiving investors around RS 17,000 Crore in the country, at least four times more than Saradha Group Scam.
In Odisha, the company was suspected of deceiving depositors nearly Rs 450 Crore.
Fraud Rose Valley, involving several cases registered in various police stations in the state, separately examined by the CBI and the country.
Bhowmik is desirable by EOW in a cheating case registered with the company at the Soro Police Station in the Balalasore District in 2013.
“Police Soro has registered a case on May 10, 2013.
We (EOW) took over the investigation from Police Soro on May 28, 2013.
Branch Soro the company has deceived investors almost Rs 2.82 Crore.
Because Bhowmik is the head of the Odisha region, we looked for it.
He has escaped to avoid arrest since registration of this case, “said an EOW officer.
EOW said they got instructions on Bhowmik recently and seeks the help of West Bengal police to arrest him.
After his arrest on Monday, he was produced at the court of Judicial Judges in Tamluk.
EOW took him to transit again to Odisha and produced it in court in Balasore on Tuesday.
The state government has attached Bank Rose Valley’s balance to an area of more than RS 83 Crore and non-moving assets worth almost Rs 11 Crore.
The CBI on January 7, 2016 submitted a court sheet in court here against the Chairman of Rose Valley Gautam Kundu, Managing Director of Shibamoy Dutta and two Directors of Ashok Kumar Saha and RAM Lal Goswami.
