Head of the Army to help improve defense relations with Israel

New Delhi: The head of General M M Naravane’s troops on Sunday departed for Israel on a five-day visit to further strengthen the extensive bilateral defense bond with the country.
It comes soon after the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar’s visit to the country.
Naravane, during his first visit to Israel from November 15 to 19, will fulfill the country’s senior military and civilian leadership to discuss “the way to improve the next defense relationship,” said an official on Sunday.
“He will hold a meeting with security establishment and exchange views on various defense related problems.
He will interact with the head of service and visit the headquarters of the Israeli forces element,” he added.
The visit immediately came after India and Israel agreed to form a joint task force to formulate a comprehensive 10-year road map to identify new regions in defense cooperation at the 15th meeting of work groups together.
The meeting was chaired by Kumar and the Director General of the Israeli Defense Ministry General General Amir Eshel in Tel Aviv on October 27.
