Chennai: The leader of the Veteran Congress and former President of TNCC Tindivanam K Ramamurthy died on Sunday morning because of age-related complications.
He is 87 years old.
Chief Minister M K Stalin paid his final respect for the dead leader in Paniyur.
Ramamurthy lives with his son in Paniyur at ECR near Chennai.
Ramamurthy’s body was taken to the city of Tindivanam’s origin for the funeral ceremony to be done later on Sunday night.

After joining the Congress, it was inspired by the leadership of the former Minister of K Kamaraj, Ramamurthy was very active in the student congress.
He continued to represent Congress as MLA, opposition leader in the Tamil Nadu legislative council and a MP Rajya Sabha.
Ramamurthy has moved away from active politics for several years now.
Before that, he was the President of the State NCP Sharad Pawar in Tamil Nadu for some time.
