New Delhi: The head of General MM Naravane’s troops on Sunday departed for Israel on a five-day visit to further strengthen Indian defense and security cooperation with the Jewish state.
The visit by the Head of the Army came several weeks after the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar went to Israel to explore ways to increase strategic bonds.
In August, Air Head Marshal RKS Bhadauria had also gone to Israel.
“General MM Naravane #COAS continues on a five-day visit to #israel.
This visit aims to further strengthen strategic defense cooperation between the two countries,” said the army in a tweet.
Officials said Gen Naravane will hold a broad talk with the top Israeli military brass to increase overall military cooperation between the two countries.
In the reflection of the growth of bilateral defense, India and Israel on Tuesday has signed an agreement to jointly develop future generation technology and products such as drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
India has become the main buyer of Israeli military hardware.
Israel has supplied various weapons, missiles and unmanned air vehicles to India for the past few years but most transactions remain behind the curtains
