Ahmedabad: The day after seven Iranians were held with vessels that were laden with heroin from Gujarat Beach, officers claimed that “trawl fishing carrying 30kg heroin should be lowered in Punjab and seven people tried to reach the beach along Maharashtra or Punjab.” The boat was arrested by Indian coast guards and anti-terrorism forces.
“DSP Bhavesh Rojiya gets input that the boss of the drug mafia Bakhsh and Khan Sahab, who is active in Pakistan and Iran, conveyed heroin’s inventory to Sri Lanka on a ship called Jumma,” said an ATS official.
The boat came from the city of Konarak on the west coast of Chabahar Gulf and the drug was published in Pakistan waters, ATS said.
Bakhsh has allegedly told seven crew members to stay in touch by satellite telephone on the way to Sri Lanka.
“These seven people remained in the sea for four days and suddenly Bakhsh called, asking them to leave Sri Lanka’s plan and go to Maharashtra or Punjab.
He told them that the drug would be sent to Punjab after the boat landed on Indian land,” said ATS officer.
When the ATS officer got input, they were with the ICG team, approached the boat 185 miles of sea away from Porbandar and took the ship to Porbandar Coast.
The defendant was identified as Ismail Pridadi, Abdul Sattar Mahlum, Rahim Bakshi Qadar Bakhshi, Khalid Jagdal, Doormohamed Faiz and Hamidullah Bakshi who worked for Bakhsh.
Sources in ATS said that these people had drugs smuggled earlier to Muscat, Yemen, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
