Tirupur: Principal in Middle School Governance here is suspended on Saturday to force students including the toilet scheduled (SC) clean and use the condescending caste name to refer to them.
Ramesh’s Chief Educational Officer (CEO) said he received complaints from several students of class IX and X school, in the village of Iduvai, on Friday against Geetha, 45, working in school for the past three years.
“They said he was abused they used the name of their caste and made him clean the toilet.
I visited the school and conducted an investigation to collect prime facie information and then put it under the suspension.
Complaints submitted to Mangalam police based on the question,” he told toi.
The department’s actions will be taken against Geetha and he is likely to be ordered under the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes (prevention of atrocities) Act, 1989, said an official of the Middle School Education Department.
There are 14 teachers at school, who gave education to 400 students from class VI to X.
