Health Action Plan of the Ministry of Health Kerala for the Sabarimala season

Thiruvananthapuram: The Ministry of Health has prepared an action plan as part of the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage season which began on November 15.
The planned action was prepared to control and prevent the spread of Covid-19, protecting the health of worshipers and officials on duty at Sabianimala during the pilgrims.
This will also include control and prevention of other infectious diseases.
Given the pandemic, all pilgrims with co-morbidities – which have been infected with Covid-19 in the last three months – have been asked to delay their visit and travel to Sannidhanam because of the high risk of cardiomyopathy.
The Trekking route from Pamba to Sannidhanam has been limited to Swamy Ayyappan Road and the use of ‘Kanana Patha’ has been limited to tribes to avoid heavier routes and thus reduce emergency risk in the midst of climbing.
The inflows of pilgrims in Sabarimala have been set at 25,000 / day and depends on the research for the first two weeks, further decisions will be taken.
Care facilities, services have been arranged with Pathanamthitta as a core area and the same thing will be extended to the nearest district such as Kottayam, Alappuzha and Idukki.
The services provided include patient care and hospitalization, anti-snake poisons and anti-rabies treatments, intensive heart care clinics, theater operations, Oxygen Panti, Cellular Clinics, Reference Transportation Facilities (Ambulances), Trauma Health Activities, Services etc.
The oxygen parror and emergency medical center will be opened in 16 different places from Pamba to Sannidhanam.
First aid facility, facilities to check blood pressure, oxygen supply and defibrillators will be ensured at these centers.
The necessary drugs will be provided by the state medical service company.
Free ambulance services all the time to transport pilgrims called higher centers such as public hospitals in Pathanamthitta and Kottayam Medical College will also be arranged.
In the case of the death of a pilgrim, facilities to transport the body to any districts in Kerala or even the closest countries will also be ascertained.
Government dispensaries will begin to function in Sannidhanam and Pamba from November 1 and from November 15 elsewhere.
Additional staff, including doctors, will be posted in government hospitals in Nilackal, Charalmedu, Erumely and Pathanamthitta.
Cardiologists and pulmonologists from the medical education department will be posted in government hospitals in Sannidhanam and Pamba.
Also, paramedic staff services such as nursing staff, pharmacists, lab technicians and radiologists will be used from other medical colleges.
