‘Health center in Bihar to get an infra key with the end of the month’

Patna: Minister of Health Mangal Pandey said all hospitals and health centers would be equipped with the infrastructure needed at the end of this month to overcome the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, if it touched the country.
Pandey said there would be no shortage of medical oxygen in any health center at the end of August.
A total of 122 pressure swing oxygen (PSA) in different hospitals will be installed immediately.
One of these plants has been installed at the Indira Gandhi (IGIM) Medical Institute and installation work in other hospitals is underway.
All hospitals, directly from health centers to medical college hospitals, get medical equipment needed according to their needs.
It is hoped that all health centers will get equipment such as oxygen concentrators, oxygen b and type-c cylinders and bilevel machines (bilevel air pressure) for children at the end of July.
In addition, all essential drugs are supplied to health centers, the Minister said.
Pandey said the Infrastructure Facility of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Newborn Baby Care Unit (SNCU) of all health centers was being upgraded on the war footing.
Special Children’s Hospital (MCH) is being established in 20 state districts.
He further shows that as many as 1,215 health centers in this country have been intended for their repairs and renovations.
The tender for reconstruction work they have floated.
And, 130 primary health centers (PHCs) are being upgraded as a community health center (CHCS), he said.
As far as the scarcity of doctors and paramedic staff in hospitals and health centers, Pandey said the necessary steps had been initiated to appoint them in a fairly good amount regularly and contracts.
Overall 30,000 doctors, nurses, and other paramedic staff were appointed.
Post around 9,800 doctors, including 2,632 general practitioners, 3,883 specialists and 3,270 Ayush doctors have been advertised for routine meeting appointments.
3,350 medical officers have been appointed.
In addition, 8,000 are designated for various health centers.
The hospital has been authorized to appoint enough amounts of ANMM and GNMS according to their needs on the contract.
All the newly appointed paramedic doctors and staff were trained at AIIMS Patna, he said.
The minister said the government tried his best to get the maximum number of people who were vaccinated against Covid-19 in rural and urban areas.
He said the six-crore six-month vaccination target (at the end of December) will be achieved by all means.
Sufficient doses of all types of vaccines available in various parts of the state and rural areas are also motivated to be fully inoculated to ensure their safety of the Covid-19 virus, he added.
