Patna: After a brief lull, Bihar is expected to receive spacious rainfall until August 23.
The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning on Thursday, predicts heavy rain along with storms and lightning in isolated places in Bihar on Friday, Sunday and Monday.
However, Patna’s metrology center issued a warning, estimating heavy rainfall in isolated places in West Bihar on Saturday and in several regions in North-East Regency on Sunday and Monday.
While heavy rain is likely to occur in Kishanganj, Araria, and Purnia on Friday, storms and lightning expected in Kishanganj, Supaul, Madhepura, Saharsa, Arriar, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Khagaria, and Jatui on Saturday.
Heavy rain and hurricanes will also occur in the West Champaran, Champaran East, Kishanganj, Arria, and Sitamarhi on Monday.
Similar forces have been spent for the West Champaran, Champaran East, Sitamarhi and Gopalganj on Tuesday.
However, there were no warnings released to Patna for the next four days.
The bulletin issued by the Patna Meteorology Center on Thursday afternoon stated that lightweight rainfall was happening in many places in North and Southwest Bihar for the past 24 hours.
It also shows that the same shower intensity also occurs in several places in the southern and southeast of the state.
“Many places in South and Northeast Bihar along with some in the north-west and north-central countries tend to accept mild to moderate rainfall,” said an official at the Met Office.
He connects the expected rainfall to the circulation of cyclones in southern Bihar and his neighborhood and the east-western trough of the northwest Rajasthan to the cyclone circulation in South Bihar.
Meanwhile, Bihar has received a 16% surplus rainfall in the rainy season until now.
According to data available on the IMD website, Bihar has received 800.5mm rainfall from June 1 to August 19 while normal rainfall during the same period is 690.6mm, leaving a 16% surplus.
