Heavy Downfour Lashes City; One is missing, some houses are broken

Thiruvananthapuram: The city suffered a fairly large damage in constantly heavy rain which destroyed the district all day Saturday.
This includes alleged losing life due to sinking and some property damage.
A guest worker from Jharkhand was lost in the Amayizhanchan canal in Kakkode near Kannnamoola around 2pm when bathing in the canal.
The police said the water surface was higher than usual and is currently very strong when the accident occurred.
Nahardeep Kumar Mondal, 30, is a missing person.
He lived near the canal and swam in it with his brother and two other friends when he drowned.
Even though Scuba’s diving experts from the fire department conducted a search for dusk, he could not be found.
The search will continue on Sunday morning.
Some houses suffered partial damage during rain in Neytattinkara, Varkala and Nedumangad.
Then the residents of these houses shift elsewhere.
As many as four families in Mathiipizha near Vithura also shifted to safer places after water rises to a worrying rate in the nearest river.
Two children suffered a minor injury when some of their home walls collapsed in Chempakamangalam under the limit of the Mangalapuram police station.
The wall of the house in the lane schedule below the limit of the Vanchiyor police station also fainted.
In the city, Flash floods were experienced in the Ambalathara and Muttathara regions.
More than 100 houses in Adimathura near Vizhinjam are also flooded with flood water.
The trees decline incident was reported about 25 locations in all districts.
Fortunately there were no casualties reported in this incident.
Three wells, one in Anavoor village and two in Balaramapuram Village, surrendered during the rain.
Neyyar reservoir, aruvikkara and peppara are raised because the surface of the water continues to increase.
District collectors have warned people who live on the banks of the Karamana river and neyyar to be careful.
Tourism activities in Neyyar Dam and Traffic to Station Hill Ponmudi have been closed given the dangerous situation.
Collectors have also ordered cessation for all excavation and mining activities in this district.
