Mumbai: Heavy rain isolated recorded in several parts of Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan on Tuesday morning, leading to IMD to increase the warning from yellow to orange, and issue a red warning for Palghar, Raigad.
The yellow warning shows heavy rain in isolated and orange places showing weight until very heavy rain in isolated places is very possible.
In a 12-hour period ended 8.30pm on Tuesday, IMD Colaba Observatory recorded 59.4mm rain and IMD Santacruz 54.6mm.
According to the estimated five days IMD, heavy rain activities are expected to continue until Friday.
“The low pressure area is located above the Saurashtra Beach and the environment and the east-west sliding zone flowing at the middle level in Central India and strong western winds apply along the west coast.
In this condition, very hard-isolated waterfalls are very possible on Conkan and Goa for July 13-15, “said IMD.
However, the lake that supplies drinking water to Mumbai does not receive a lot of rain.
The total water stock stands at a liter of 2.5 lakh mi-llion or 17% of the total stock needed.
On July 13, 2020, the total water stock was 3.39 lakh million liters.
