Agra: The bathroom that endlessly crossed the country not only made the weather pleasant but also managed to wash pollutants from the air, making it “good” to breathe.
The air quality index (AQI) level in Uttar Pradesh has oscillated over the past week between the “good” and “satisfying” categories, different from the “very bad” category and “severe” and “severe”.
Moreover, Fivectitas in the country from 11 monitored by the Central Polution Control Board has maintained “good” air quality since July 28.
On Tuesday, Agra recorded AQI 33, while Bulandshahr was in 39, Firozabad (17), Gorakhpur (18), Kanpur (30), Lucknow (45), Meerut (48) and Varanasi in 44.
Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida Record AQI in the “satisfying” category.
Authorities say AQI usually remains “very poor” or “severe” throughout the country but thanks to air rainfall which is relatively pollution and clean.
Aqi between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfying, 101-200 moderate, poor 201-300, 301-400 is very bad, and 401-500 severe.
Since June 20, when the rainy season officially began in the state, the actual rainfall was accepted until Tuesday was 399 mm, slightly above the normal level of 386.1.
“Monsun Moon always looks at improving air quality throughout the country when it rains settles dust particles on the ground,” said Bhuvan Yadav, a regional officer from the pollution control board in Agra.
Previously, only one air quality monitoring station functions in Agra in Sanjay Palace to provide pollutant value directly but now, four more stations have been added in various places and they will provide PM 2.5, PM 10, nitrogen dioxide, and other pollutants value.
“Monitoring helps in assessing the level of pollution in relation to the quality of the air quality around,” said Yadav, adding that one more station will immediately operate in the Shahjahan Park.
