Heavy rain in Maha Utara, Marathwada: 8 Killed

Nashik / Aurangabad: At least eight people were killed and severe damage to the property reported as heavy rain putting North Maharashtra and Marathwada on Tuesday.
Seven victims were reported in the incident related to rain in various parts of Marathwada.
Deputy Aurangabad Deputy Commissioner Parag Soman said the Nanded District reported three deaths during Beed, Jalna Regency and the Latur reported one.
Heavy rain triggered landslides in eight locations in the Aurangabad District Kannad Ghat area.
Minitruck, with the driver and cleanser inside, plunged into Ghat.
A Nhai official confirmed the driver was killed.
At Chalgaon Jalgaon, a 60-year-old woman was washed away with more than 200 livestock and several vehicles in the initial flash flood on Tuesday.
The woman slept in a hut near the edge of the Dongri river when she was washed away.

Raut, Pravin Munde police supervisor and other senior officials visited the scene to take stock situations.
The Aurangabad District collector Sunil Chavan, Kannad police officers and Kannad MLA Udaysingh Rajput and others also conducted spot inspections of the accessible section.
Meanwhile, Nashik and Ahmednagar Regency received good rainfall in a 24 hour period which ended 8.30 in Tuesday.
The IMD has warned heavy rainfall in both districts in the next two days too.
In accordance with official data, the Bed District reported the highest 75mm rainfall in the last 24 hours Tuesday morning, followed by Parbhani (40mm), Jalna (38mm), Nanded (37mm), stir (30mm), Osmanbad (30mm), 24mm) and Hingoli ( 11mm).
Eight Marathwada districts have now received 638mm rainfall since June 1, which accounts for 124% of normal rainfall.
Weather experts have estimated that the current rainy season can be extended until early December in Marathwada and other parts of the country.
The Department of Water Resources in Nashik keeps a watch close to the surface of the water in the dam, including gangapur.
At present, the gangapur dam is 90% full of capacity.
Water level in two other dams – Kashyapi and Gautami – each 66% and 77% respectively.
