Patna: The country witnessed a widespread rainfall on Wednesday.
Patna district recorded 69.4mm rainfall until 5:30 a.m., followed by 59.2mm in style.

Sanjay Kumar, a weather scientist at the Patna Meteorology Office, said because the formation of a low-pressure area, the southern part of Bihar will receive heavy rainfall for the next 48 hours.
“When the circulation of cyclones can advance to the west, the northern part of Jharkhand and the southern part of Bihar tend to accept good rainfall,” he said.
According to him, Bihar has recorded a 17% surplus rainfall since June 1 when the Monsun reached the country.
“Between June 1 and July 28, the state received 564.9mm rainfall against 484.6mm normal.
In June, the country recorded 354.3mm rainfall, registering an excess of 111%,” Sanjay said.
He added: “According to statistics in July, Bihar received almost heavy rain but recorded 210mm rainfall so far against normal 216.1mm.
In the next two days, Bihar will receive heavy rain because southwest monsoon has been characterized properly.” According to Weather Bulletin Skymet, the rainstal trough running along the foot of Bihar, it produces a heavy shower isolated in the part of the country, including forbesganj, which records maximum 277mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
Motihari recorded 70mm rainfall and 32mm Supulul during this period.
