Heavy rain kills five in the state, wet spells to continue

Ranchi: The unrelenting rain in the past 24 hours has claimed five lives in three separate incidents.
Water reservoirs are full of periphery, low areas that are flooded and electricity outages are reported from various parts of several districts.
The state has recorded excessive rainfall of 662% over the last 24 hours with 21 of 24 districts that received more than 60% of normal rainfall while two districts received between 20% and 59% of excessive rainfall.
Sahibanj is the only district that does not receive rainfall.
Two people identified as Vishweshwar Das (50) and Siddhartha Sanyal (45) fishing from the pool along with their cars in the Bastakola Jharia area in Dhanbad on Friday.
Officer-responsible for the Jharia Police Station, Pankaj Jha, said the duo came to Ghat Burning at Bastakola Gaushala on Wednesday night for the last ceremony of an acquaintance.
“It seems they can’t distinguish between flooding and pools nearby.
Their car accidentally sneaked into the pool,” he said.
In a separate incident, Aasrin Kandulna (18) died in Diyankel Village in Simdega when the car came from Ranchi slipping from the road and hit him.
Some dozen kuchcha houses were excavated in girech which recorded 135.5mm rain on Thursday.
Although some people were feared injured in a collapse home, the couple died in Kendauadih under the PEERTANR police station.
DSP Giridih Sanjay Kumar confirmed the incident.
“Ruplal Manjhi (65) and his wife Sani Muni Devi (60) was destroyed on their kuchcha’s house debris when it collapsed due to heavy rain on Thursday night,” he said.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Giridih Rahul Sinha refused to confirm the accident in the district.
“Is there a victim, we will get information,” he said.
IMD officials say low pressure is characterized by either weakened into low pressure and views on southwest bihar.
On Friday, most countries got medium to heavy rainfall.
Bagodar in GiriLih recorded 145.2mm, Chandankyari and Gomia in Bokaro recorded 120.4mm and 118.6mm each while MokeChcho in the coderma received 120.2mm Deoghar received 109mm.
Head, Ranchi IMD, Abhishek Anand, said that even though some parts of the country received very severe rainfall, others recorded medium to lightness but in statistical terms, it varied from normal rainfall.
“The rainy season was considered concluding on September 30 so that the rain after the period was observed separately and normal rainfall for October was usually lacking.
The coderma received 58.9mm rainfall but it was 1.372% higher than normal rainfall for districts according to book notes for 1 October, “he said.
The system that causes rainfall even though it weakens it is expected to be dispoured and causes more rain in the state.
Anand said the low pressure area observed over Southwest Bihar could once again cause rain in North Jharkhand, extending to the center, including Ranchi on Saturday.
“Rainfall activities are likely to be reduced from Sunday but the storm warning will continue,” he added.
