Heavy rainfall forecast for parts of Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued an orange warning for the Ernakulam district, Idukki, Kozhikode and Wayanad for Thursday and Friday, predicts very heavy rain.
The Met Department also issued alert to the country’s fishermen and asked them not to explore the sea until July 26.
“Strong winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, 60kmph is very likely along and outside the coast of Kerala.
Fishermen are advised not to explore this sea area during the period mentioned,” Weatherman issued a warning from 22 to 26 July.
Orange warnings were issued for Kannur Regency for Friday.
The IMD also issued a yellow warning for all other districts on Friday.
The red warning shows heavy rain until heavy rains more than 20 cm in 24 hours, while alert oranges means very heavy rain of 6cm rain to 20cm.
The yellow warning means heavy rainfall between 6 to 11 cm.
