Pune: The Call Center Pune Municipal Corporation for Covid Help receives more than 35,000 calls in the past four months.
The majority of calls are related to the availability of hospital beds.
Nearly 8,000 beds were allocated through the help channel during the second wave of pandemic.
“The Civic body will continue to operate aid channels in the coming days.
This has provided timely assistance to many people during a pandemic,” said Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.
In accordance with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) data, around 27,000 calls related to the collection of information about Covid.
They include information about covid care centers and house isolation.
8,000 The remaining calls are about the availability of beds.
Information about oxygen beds, ventilators and icuses are also sought.
In accordance with the citizenship administration, it has started a help center with five lines, which then increases to 10 after again the call starts in.
The number of further lines increased to 15 in the peak period.
On average, 700 to 800 calls are accepted per day in the middle.
The number was later reduced to 200 because the number of positive cases was reduced.
Now, Helpline receives 50 average calls.
According to PMC officials, the Civic Agency has decided to introduce the call recording feature in the Covid Bed Management Call Center.
The decision was taken after many citizens raised complaints not to get the right information about the availability of beds.
A civilian official said the Bombay High Court had also asked questions about the central function several months.
The court, while hearing this problem regarding the call center and other PMC facilities, had directed one of the advocates to give a call on the Covid Help and check the availability of hospital beds.
Staff members, who have answered, did not provide information correctly, after the Civic body took action against him, the official added.
