The defendant was Sarma (40) was held in Nagaland and Jamminlal Churachandpur in Manipur.
Subrajyyoti Bora, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Guwahati District District), said “drugs packed in 205 cleverly hidden soap cases in truck fuel tanks.
Based on special input, the police team intercepted vehicles in the Jorabat area.
Consignment is done in such a way so it cannot be detected in normal search.
As a curiosity, we are looking for a fuel tank and recovering the package.
“Bora said the people were arrested told the police that the vehicle was handed over to them in the nagaland by different drivers.
This, said Bora, is a new modus operandi from drug smugglers to mislead the police.
