New Delhi: In a large catch, Heroin worth RS 126 Crore has been confiscated from two South African men at the international airport here when they tried to smuggle it to the country, according to an official statement on Monday.
Both defendants were intercepted on Saturday after their arrival from Johannesburg through Doha.
“Private search and detailed baggage of passengers, powder / white granules, found heroin, weighing 8 kg recovering from one passenger and 10 kg recovering from the others,” said a statement issued by the customs department.
The two defendants were found part of the syndicate, he said.
It states that white powder / granules, weighing 18 is totally and is estimated to be rated 126 crore, cleverly hidden in their check-in trolley bag.
The two men had been arrested and smuggling cases had been registered against them, said a customs officer.
