High Land Procurement Costs in Maharashtra: Gadkari

Nashik: Minister of Transportation and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari said they found high land acquisition in Maharashtra and had asked the state government to reduce tariffs.
Speaking on a function in Ahmednagar on Saturday, Gadkari said his department secretary had even issued an order that they would not take new road projects in Maharashtra unless the state government reduced land acquisition costs.
He said the land acquisition fee of RS 18 Crore per Acre in Maharashtra.
Gadkari said that reducing land acquisition costs did not mean that farmers would be financial losses.
“I will ensure that they (farmers) get a more interesting price and do not lose the party with their land.
But my service is not in a position to buy a high cost of land as in addition to making roads, other infrastructure such as roadside facilities, bus stands etc.

He and Head of NCP Sharad Pawar were in Ahmednagar on Saturday to dedicate and put Stone Foundation 526 km from the National Highway Project in the district.
The total project costs of all these projects are Rs 4,074 Crore.
The ministry will implement the Expressway project letter-Chennai Greenfield at a cost of 50,000 crore, which will pass Nashik, Ahmednagar and Solarpur.
“This project will be connected to Kochi and Hyderabad.
After this project is ready, it will relieve traffic from North India in districts such as Kolhapur.
This includes 180km in the Ahmednagar district and the Ministry will spend 8,000 crore in this district,” he added.
Gadkari emphasized the need for a sugar factory in Ahmednagar to provide a greater focus on ethanol production.
In his speech, the pawar appreciates the work done by Gadkari in making quality roads throughout the country.
