Hyderabad: It is a damaged day record in terms of auction license license for 2021-23.
The state saw 67,841 applications poured, with 121 jostling applicants for one shop in the city of Madhira Khammam.
While each store in the state receives an average of 24 applications, the Excise Ministry gets more than an estimated income of almost 1,400 crore rs in just a few days as an application fee.
Most applications come from Khammam and Mahbubnagar districts, which share the border with Andhra Pradesh.
For 2,620 stores throughout the state, Khammam district only received more than 10,000 applications.
In terms of each shop, the second highest number of applications are accepted for a store located in the same city of Madhira, with 119 people who are looking for licenses.
“We are both surprised.
As the name implies, the two shops in the city of Madhira have so many applicants,” said an excise official.
Three other stores in the city receive more than 90 applications.
On the last day of the application, Thursday, 37,152 applications defeat was submitted until late at night throughout the state.
Officials credited a large number of applications to two main factors.
First, many people from Andhra Pradesh were applied because the government sold liquor directly to people without giving individual permission.
“The Telangana Government also campaigned at an increase in margins for retailers on liquor sales, which resulted in many people archive applications at the last minute, and there was no limit to the number of applications sent by everyone.” said officials, about the second reason.
During the last auction, 48,000 accepted applications made this number bigger.
Interestingly, a shop in the village of Mortad in the Nizamabad district is the only one who receives one application.
The number of applicants at each auction has increased, officials said on Friday.
The application fee at auction 2017 is only ₹ 1 lakh, collecting revenue ₹ 498 crore; Which increased to ₹ 968 crore at auction 2019 and rs 1,208 crore in 2021.
from auction 2019, the price of the application was raised to ₹ 2 lakh.
