Higher educational institutions will function as enabler in Indian innovation, Ecosystem start-up: Ministry of Education MOS

New Delhi: Higher education institutions have great potential to function as supporters in Indian innovation and beginner ecosystems said Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for education when handling the e-symposium symposium on ‘building ecosystem innovation in educational institutions’ organized by the Ministry Education, DPIITI, AICTE and cell innovation of the Ministry of Education.
The Minister also launched a film on Smart India Hackathon.

“It can be achieved by ecosystems and dedication and efforts to support our innovators and entrepreneurs,” he added.
He stressed that India tomorrow must combine our best traditions with the best of modern global views.
Singh further said, “Our country has one of the largest higher education systems and the third largest initial ecosystem in the world.
We strive to become a knowledge-based economy and this is not possible without innovative sprit and entrepreneurship in our educational institutions.”
The Minister urges educational institutions in India to shift their mindset and create an environment that supports research, innovation, and high-quality entrepreneurship which leads to commercialization and technology transfer.
Rajkumar Ranjan Singh also congratulated 75 start-ups identified by the Ministry of Education as part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The 75 start-up of students and faculties has developed innovative technology and has great potential.
Start-up receives funding support up to RS 10 lakh each and let alone supporting and incubation support will also be provided in collaboration with partner institutions.
K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, the Department of Higher Education said, “In India we currently have 2500 cell innovations and 5000 additional cells will be added in the future.”
He told me that 50,000 teachers under the Ambassador program were being trained which would bring large transformation in the education sector.
“This is a culture of innovation and this type of event motivates young people to advance and show off new ideas and abilities,” he added.
Anita Karwal, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy Speaking of how young Indians focus more on the development of problem solving skills.
He appreciated the great participation of young girls in the events of such nation and character development which showed the success of the vision of new education policy (NEP) about fair education.
Karwal also highlights the value of innovation and skills to risk among young people to make them ready in the future.
Overcoming the importance of the initiative, he stated that, “Our focus must develop scientific temperament and logical thinking and critical among children to make them responsible citizens.”
