Himachal CM visited the areas hit by Lahaul floods

Shimla: Head of the Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday afternoon visiting the flood-hit areas in the Lahaul Valley Lahaul-spital valley to assess the situation and oversee the rescue work carried by the district administration.
During his visit, the minister’s chairman also interacted with the local population and convinced them to all possible assistance to restore the earliest road connectivity to ensure their commercial plant transportation outside the district.
He also interacts with people who are stranded including tourists.
Overall, 178 stranded people were sent by road to Kullu, including 37 people stranded in Jesher, 14 people stranded in Fura Village and 15 people stranded in Shansha.
Thakur also directed officials of the Ministry of Public Works to explore the possibility of building a link on the left bank of the Chandra-Bhaga River as requested by local residents who will ensure the previous road connectivity through Lingar and Rashil Village to Udaipur and Pang.
Lahaul-spiti MLA and the Minister of Tribal Development RAM Lal Markanda, who camped in affected areas, said that administration was caring for children stranded.
He said that Mahila Local Mantu provides food for everyone including those involved in rescue work and restoration.
In the Lahaul-Spiti District, on July 27, because Cloudburst and severe flooding, heavy damage was caused by roads and Tandi-Sansarina bridges.
The Jahalma bridge on Jalan Tandi-Sansarinal has been washed and bridges in Shansha, Madgran and Thirot have suffered severe damage.
Maranda said that the border road organization was involved in the war footing to repair the bridge and this road.
He together with the commander of 38 Bredi, the O Uma Shankar, reached a place to take a stock of situation and accelerate the restoration work on Saturday.
He said that traffic on Jalan Tandi-Sansarinal would take 20 to 25 days to be restored and for now alternative arrangements along the broken bridge have been made for people to cross the road.
He said that the people who were stranded were crossed through Shansha Nullah through the Ropeway Trolley prepared by the mechanical wing of the Ministry of Public Works in collaboration with the Mountain Institute.
He said that three missing people after flash floods in Tojing Nullah still could not be traced and the National Force Response Team Response had been sent back.
He said that the police team will reach the place on Saturday to launch search operations.
