Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the country to provide information about the children who have orphans or lose one of their parents because of Covid-19.
Courts also seek information about actions taken by the state to help or rehabilitate such children.
The division bench consisting of acting Chief Judge Ravi Malimath and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Two passed these commands with litigation of public interests and other petitions that highlight inadequate facilities and infrastructure in Himachal, to handle pandemics.
The court has directed senior advocates in general to record material about these children and post this issue for August 11 for further hearing.
During hearing on Wednesday, the court observed that in terms of July 28 regulations, reports had been received from the deputy commissioner, some came on Wednesday morning.
Therefore, at the request of Amicus Curiae, matters delayed was postponed for considering the contents of the report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner, the court said.
