Darjeeling: Darjeeling Himalayan Railway will continue the Joyrides between the city of Darjeeling and Ghoom on Monday.
The service was suspended from May 1 after the Curbs was announced after the increase in the Covid case during the second wave.
Initially, DHR will run six services every day, four with a steam engine and two with diesel.
DHR Director Arvind Mishra said the decision to continue the service following the request of tourists who flocked to the hills and relaxations recently in restrictions announced by the state government.
“We will continue the Joy Ride service from Darjeeling to Ghoom and return to Darjeeling from August 16.
Other services will gradually continue on request.
We will operate six daily joy rides.
Steam Locos will operate with two coaches and locos diesel with four coaches -Masing, “he said.
