New Delhi: Hindi plays an important role in spreading our knowledge and culture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on the occasion of Hindi World Day on Monday.
The Ministry of External Affairs celebrates the program on the World Hindi Day virtually.
The program is led by the Minister of State External Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi, the External Ministry said (MEA) said in a statement.
During this program, a message by Prime Minister Modi and the Minister of External Affairs J Jaishankar was read out.
Extend its best expectations, the Prime Minister said that Hindi played an important role in spreading our knowledge and culture because of its simplicity, according to the statement.
PM said that the increasing use of Hindi in the field of information technology and technology and its popularity among young people present a bright future for it.
The Minister of External Affairs said in his message together “We continued to move towards our destination to take Hindi to the global stage”.
In his speech, Lekhi said the various steps had been taken by the Ministry to promote Hindi studies abroad.
He showed that the government had established around 50 seats, including 13 Hindi chairs, at overseas universities to promote Indian, cultural and study languages.
He further said that Hindi was taught in more than 670 educational institutions in more than 100 countries.
Lekhi expressed hope that under the main leadership of Prime Minister Modi and under the guidance of the Minister of External Affairs, Hindi will continue to grow on the world stage.
The Minister of State for external affairs also announced the name of the three passport offices, namely Bareilly, Chandigarh and Bangalore to do the best work in Hindi’s official language.
He also announced awards from the three best magazines from the journal Hindi house published by the passport office.
