Coimbatore: Police Commissioner Pradip Kumar has detained two Hindu workers Munnani, who was arrested for tarnishing the statue of Periyar EV Ramasamy in Vellalore a few days ago, under the Law Goonda.
A police officer said V Arunkarthik 26 years old, a 28-year-old Autorickshaw driver, and V Mohanraj, both residents of Vellalore, have tarnished the statue in front of the Periyit Study Center in the January 9 region with Garlanding It with a pair of sandals and smearing turmeric powder on his head .
