Coimbatore: Hindu Munnani has announced the plan to install 1.25 lakh holh of Lord Ganesh throughout the state to celebrate Vinayaka Chaturthi this year.
Hindu State Secretary Munnani Kadeshwara Subramanam told reporters here on Friday that the government had not given them permission to install idols so far.
“The state government must extend support and enable us to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.
Even if permissions are not given, we will continue the celebration, because the Covid case has fallen.” He said the festival was celebrated in a big condition in the whole state for the past 40 years, Thanks to the founder of Munnani Hindu Rama Gopalan.
But last year, he said, the procession was passed and the celebration was muted because of a pandemic.
While the lack of ordinary celebrations resulted in disappointment, the pandemic also discussed a severe blow to idol makers.
Because the procession is prohibited, Ganesh’s idol is not installed in public places, which hit their business, subramaniam said.
“Now, the Covid case has fallen and normalcy has returned slowly.
The state government has enabled commercial, theater, park and recreational zones to be reopened.
The large population has also taken Covid vaccines.
So, we have decided to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi this year.
The procession will also be held as part of the celebration.
All Covid guidelines will be followed, “he said.
