Bengaluru: PSU Defense Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Tuesday said it signed a contract with the Government of Mauritius for the export of a sophisticated light helicopter (ALH MK III) for the Mauritius police.
Repeating that the agreement is in line with the center vision to increase defense exports to friendly foreign countries, PSU said Mauritius had operated ALH and DO-228 aircraft which was built.
“With this contract, things and the Mauritius government further strengthened the old business relationship which stretched over three decades,” a statement issued by the read.
Alh MK III is a multi-mission multi-mission multipurpose helicopter in category 5.5 tons.
And, things said the helicopter had proven its courage in various utility roles, including various missions of saving lives during natural disasters in India and abroad.

More than 335 ALH has been produced until now which has cumulative flying hours around 3.4 lakh.
It also ensures technical assistance and product support to customers to ensure the convenience of healthy helicopter services,” the statement added.
PSU, however, does not determine the value of the agreement.
