Guwahati: Minister of Assam Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma on Saturday confirmed that Hindutva was a way of life and claiming that adherents of most religions were Hindu descendants.
Hindutva started 5,000 years ago and could not be stopped, said Senior BJP leader at a press conference held to mark the completion of the second month of his government in the state.
“Hindutva is a way of life.
How can I or anyone stop it? It has flowed throughout the age.
Almost all of us are Hindu descendants.
A Christian or a Muslim has also come down from Hinduity at a certain time,” he said.
Hindutva cannot be “removed” because it will mean “moving from the roots and homeland”, said Sarma.
Asked about the problem of “Love Jihad”, the main minister said he had a reservation for the term but confirmed that no one would be allowed to deceive a woman.
“The government will not tolerate women who are cheated by anyone – whether Hinduism or Muslims.
The right action will be taken against the perpetrators to ensure our sister’s safety and safety,” he said.
Asked about the opposition criticism of his statement that MLA was intended to frame the laws and ministers responsible for the development of constituencies, Sarma claimed that this was what the Indian constitution and “legislators above the minister” in this case in assembly.
