Chennai: History-Sheeter PapPai Guna, who faced several cases, gave up in the presence of the Magistrate Court in Saidapet in Chennai on Tuesday morning even when Kancheepuram police launched hunting for him.
Guna, 41, from Maduramangalam Village near Sriperumbudur, faced more than 25 cases – including murder, efforts to kill, kidnap and extortion – in the district of Chengalpet and Kancheepuram.
Many small manufacturing units and other factories in Kancheepuram and Chengalpet Regency have faced problems from criminal gangs demanding money.
A special team led by ADSP Velladurai was formed for NAB Guna, which had run for almost six months.
Velladurai has been part of many murder meetings that occur in various districts in the state in the past 25 years.
He was a member of the Special Task Unit of the TN Police who shot down in the Forest of Brigand Veerappan in 2004.
In Chennai, he was part of the army who shot down down Gangster Veeramani in 2003.
