New Delhi: The police have arrested the truck driver who had hit a bicycle on August 21, leaving one dead and other injured critical, officials said on Wednesday.
The defendant has been identified as Sanjay Kumar Singh (41), a resident of Asola’s extension at Fatehpur Beri in Delhi, they said.
On August 21, the police received information about the accident.
People who were injured, both the residents of Sultanpur in Delhi were taken to the center of AIIMS trauma where the person named Sanjay (26) was declared dead, and the other named Gaurav (25) was received in critical condition, said a senior police officer.
During the investigation, the police analyzed the CCTV recording of the area carefully, the officer said.
In the recording, heavy vehicles were seen about motorbikes but the registration number was unclear, the officer said.
Vehicle routes are checked through CCTV camera snippets, but still vehicles cannot be traced.
However, it became clear that the vehicle came from the nearest area, police said.
The police focused on several heavy vehicles and drivers from three to four vehicles checked.
One of them claimed his crime, police said.
Singh vehicles have been confiscated.
Gaurav is still in critical condition in the center of AIIMS trauma, added the police.
