Noida: Commuter who is looking for a smooth drive at Noida-Greater Noida Expressway may have to wait until next year.
While the patchwork on the toll road is ongoing, said Noida authorities, coating work will take at least three months to complete.
On Tuesday, the Noida authority, who examined the CarrieGeway after a recent incident where the owner of four-wheeled vehicles died in a car accident after colliding with a road roller on the toll road, looking for a report from a contractor engaged to reporting work.
Working on a stretch began last year in December and initially, the six-month deadline was issued for the completion of the project.
The 24 km toll road that connects Noida and Greater Noida will reappear and decrease back through “hot recycling technology in place”.
While stretching 20 km fell under the Noida Authority, 4 km left which was managed by a larger noida authority.
Authority has set aside budget around RS 61 Crore for work.
In July, the contractor involved in the work was issued by the notification of performances and penalties imposed on him for seeking an extension to complete the project.
“But now we have been told that the final repair and re-coating work will take three more months.
We hope that at the end of December, the toll road will be fully prepared,” said a senior manager of Noida Authority.
Commuter uses a stretch, meanwhile, faces difficulties because the barricade has been placed and the surface of the carriageway is not evenly distributed.
“At night, the stretch seems insecure.
The barricade does not have a reflector.
The motorists pierced on the streets for the first time often excessive and have to confuse the car suddenly because of an uneven danger or surface.
It places other drivers at risk too,” Ritesh Saxena, a resident of Nar Vihar Colony in Sector 34, said.
General Manager (Civil Works) from the authority of Noida, PK Kaushik said, “Because of the rain that is higher than normal this season, the work of the expressive resurfacing has been postponed.
To continue the entire stretch of new technology, filling work must be done.
Without removing all holes and cavities , back work cannot be done.
The whole process can be done only during dry weather when the air is not humid.
That is why we have asked the contractor to complete the work by mobilizing labor even in the night shift.
We try to find out if there is a negligence that results in the incident where A car collided with a road roller on the night intervention on Sunday and Monday.
