HMK protests against demolition of temples

Coimbatore: The city police blocked Jalan Sundapalayam on Friday after Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) issued a protest against City Corporation to tempt the Aggaali Amman Temple at the Bund of Narsampathi Lake.Hmk members led by Arjun Sampath leader blocking the road for almost an hour.
“The Civic body, who destroyed houses in Bund, has promised to deliver the temple.
But they destroyed this century temple without telling customers and worshipers,” he said.
“We want another home to Dewi Amman in the same location soon.” The vehicle was diverted through the funeral land and Jalan Seerianenickepalayam.
Protests caused the spread of large police along the Sundapalayam road, Jalan Thagam and the Funeral Ground Road.
Residents form shifted from place last year said the temple was the only connection with their inheritance.
