Hoba demands compensation for farmers

Chandigarh: Former Minister of Haryana and opposition leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday demanded compensation for farmers and said continuous rain for the past two weeks has caused great damage to plants.
“Many vegetable plants, including potatoes, have been completely destroyed.
Wheat and Mustard farmers also suffer because of this.
Therefore, the government must provide compensation to farmers by conducting girdings specifically for losses caused by farmers without further delays,” he said.
Hoba said farmers faced the weather wrath continuously for the last few seasons and they demanded compensation several times but no insurance companies and the government had compensated them.
“In the past season, more than five and a half lakh hekons of plants were damaged by rain and excessive water but, until now, farmers were waiting for compensation,” he said.
“The government does not compensate or solve waterlogging problems.
Therefore, farmers do not only suffer from plant losses before, they cannot sow this season too.
In such situations, the government must announce the double compensation for the farmers.
In addition, the government too Must immediately divert water from the areas recorded by water, “said the former main minister.
Speaking of his health, Hooda said that he was in isolation due to Corona infection but won among the farmers as soon as he became healthy.
“I constantly get complaints from farmers because they carry a weather burden other than apathy and mismanagement of the government.
Previously they did not get DAP because of neglecting the government, now they face lack of urea seeds and sunflowers.
The government must increase his attitude and stop harassing Annadata,” he said.
