NEW DELHI: Following India’s javelin coach Uwe Hohn Inform the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Athletics Federation of India (AFI) within the trainings or instead”lack of preparation” of this course and field stars to the forthcoming Olympic Games, the AFI has come out all guns blazing from the 58-year-old German trainer.
Hohn has allegedly alleged that he had been”blackmailed” by both SAI and AFI to signing a contract he was not satisfied with.
He was also critical of this AFI on”leading athletes not getting global exposure and training overseas” from the lead-up into the Olympics.
AFI president Adille Sumariwalla talked to TOI on Thursday and explained “His (Hohn) allegations are a whole waste of time.
That is complete crap and we will need to concentrate on the Olympics.
“Anything he said regarding blackmail within his contract is absolute crap.
He had a contract.
There has been a contract to be revived and he requested for items which were unreasonable.
Therefore SAI and AFI’s standing is’we can not afford it to you’.
He did not sign the contract which people gave him to him.
You do not sign the contract, so you do not get compensated.
He had the choice: to signal it or not sign it.
He didn’t sign that, so that he would return home.
Nobody forced him to remain.
Where is the matter of blackmail? “He attempted to drive government.
He can not push the authorities.
That is actually the government of India.
He’s been conducting a racket.
These men believe that we’ll float under their own pressure.
We do not succumb to anyone’s pressure.
You’re managing a nation, you are not dealing with any person.
He can not hold the nation to your ransom,” Sumariwalla stated.
.
“Naturally, his attention was not on the throwers.
He desired to visit South Africa.
The main reason to visit South Africa was since he wished to train someone in South Africa.
We’re paying a ridiculous quantity of money to not train different individuals.
That is exactly what the athletes also have alleged.
His frustration was that he could not move,” he explained.
Sumariwalla claimed this controversy will not impact the Olympic-bound javelin throwers of the nation.
“Neeraj (Chopra) isn’t coaching together with him (Hohn).
Neeraj abandoned him 2018.
He’s currently in Portugal and is currently working with Dr Klaus Bartonietz, our biomechanics specialist.
Annu Rani and Shivpal (Singh) do not need to train .
The throwers have develop their bills.
It does not impact anyone.
So what worth is that he (Hohn) into people? Why should we raise his wages? He desired a ridiculous rise in his wages, bonuses that were ridiculous.
We can not provide that.” Speaking about a different allegation wherein Hohn has said that Indian athletes do not receive”grade” food nutritional supplements, Sumariwalla stated,”The food nutritional supplements which he (Hohn) is speaking about, even when I can not receive a purity certification from the seller, I can not introduce my athletes.
I can not provide the athletes the nutritional supplements he would like to provide them.”
