Holidays for all schools until January 31: TN Govt

Chennai: Given the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, the Tamil Nadu government on Sunday states holidays for all students including those in class X, XI and XII until January 31.
Although the physical class has stopped for class I for IX from the first week of January, the offline class continues for class IX to XII.
“Now, given the surge in Covid-19 cases and for the sake of students, all classes including class X, XI and XII have been given holidays until January 31.
Revision tests for class X and XII scheduled to begin on January 19 are also postponed.
Revised date will be announced later, “said the government liberation.
Clarity attempted to reopen, a non-reference exam is available for the current collection of class X and XII students, the Department of School Education has planned a revised test from 19 to 28 and others in March as a reserve for the Board exam.
The school has completed around 90% of the syllabus for class X and XII students.
“Schools may need another month to resolve the remaining syllabus and to begin the revision of the topic.
The Department of School Education must prepare a new schedule for revised tests, physical classes and council exams so that teachers and students will have clarity to prepare for the board exam when schools reopen once more , “said GJ Manohar, Head of MCC MCC Middle School in Chetpet.
Class X vaccination to students XII can help while conducting the council test.
“More than 90% of students who qualified in our school were vaccinated.
So, the reopening of the school would not be a problem when the Covid-19 case subsided,” said Padmaja R, Principal of Chennai Girls Secondary School in Saidapet.
While the State Council school can struggle to protect students through online classes because almost 30% of students still lack access to smartphones, the CBSE school plan to continue the online class.
“Most CBSE schools have held online classes for all classes, including class X and XII.
We will continue the online class to prepare students for the term test 2 in April,” said PG Subramanian, Bhavan Principal, Rajaji Vidhyashram in Kilpauk.
