Home Testing Kit: Many Covid Cases Skip BBMP Radar

Bengaluru: home testing kit for Covid-19, easily available on a table in environmental pharmacies in Bengaluru, has emerged as a new headache for BBMP and patients too.
Given that infection does not severe waves before, people use this kit and also isolate yourself without bother reminiscent of authority.
However, patients seek hospitalization when symptoms worse are aware of the trap to maintain their infection from health authority radar.
Sowmya Rao, a chef in a restaurant, took a covid-19 kit test that was safe on January 15, and found him carrying a virus.
“As a responsible citizen, I isolate myself.
But there is no mechanism for BBMP to follow up on me.
This is annoying,” Rao said.
Lalith Rajasshekar was tested positive with a home kit on January 9 and immediately isolated himself, but things worse later.
“On January 12, I couldn’t breathe and after checking reading on the saturation machine at home, I noticed the count had dropped dramatically.
When I tried to block the hospital bed and received through BBMP, they asked me for one ma’am.
I don’t have it, “Rajasshekar said.
He must do another test in a private hospital and then accepted.
BBMP was also worried about the consequences of a large number of people who tested positive at home and dropped upon.
KV Trilok Chandra, Special Commissioner (Health), said people might use these kits to avoid coming under the radar of officials from the goal or the Ministry of Health.
The track “we contact chemists and record how many kits like it have been distributed.
We have also asked chemists to get the contact details and addresses of customers who buy this kit,” Chandra said.
On Sundays, the government, in a circle, the mandate that pharmacists and drug store owners collect details of people who buy a home testing kit and that they must notify buyers that if they test positive they must notify government hospitals or doctors.
Ravindra Kumar MJ, Secretary, Bengaluru chemist and drug association, said that nearly 12,000 kits were sold every day in the entire city.
“This kit is valuable anywhere between Rs 250-350.
It is affordable for most people and it provides instant results, reducing panic,” Kumar said.
Will follow the norms of his norms, however, acknowledging that the kit affects the alertness of the BBMP, and thus they will follow orders issued by the government.
Mahesh Pawar, a medical shop owner in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, said that he sold almost 85 kits on Monday alone.
“People use applications like Dunzo or Swiggy to get this kit sent to their home,” he said.
