Hong Kong: Hong Kong Police arrested former Apple Daily Pro-Democracy Executive Editor on Wednesday, local media reported that the latest arrest in the national security investigation of the Jimmy Lai Tycoon newspaper.
The police, who usually do not identify individuals who are being investigated, said in a statement they have arrested former 51-year-old men’s newspaper editor of suspicion “conspiring to collude with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security.” The next digital media group, which published Apple Daily, did not immediately respond to a comment request.
Popular tabloids from Staunch Beijing Critic Lai folded after several hundred police stormed his headquarters on June 17 and freeze the main assets and bank accounts.

Police said dozens of articles might have violated the National Security Law which was forced by China, the first example of the authorities who target media reports under the law.
