Hong Kong: Hong Kong will launch a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from next week, Sophia Chan’s health secretary said on Wednesday, when the authorities increased efforts to convince Beijing to mainland China.
Vaccination campaigns at the Global Financial Hub have disadvantaged a lot of advanced economics, with around 65% of the eligible population fully vaccinated with shots from Sinovac China, or Bionech Germany.
About 85% of those who are older than 80 in the city ruled by China by 7.5 million have not been vaccinated.
The elderly will get a priority for booster shooting, along with health workers, cross-border truck drivers and others in categories are considered to be higher risk to get disease.
About 1.86 million people qualified for booster, which they can begin ordering from November 5, to accept it as fast as November 11.
“The elderly is the most fragile group and we have the responsibility to protect their health,” Chan said.
Hong Kong follows the superiority of Beijing in maintaining a strict travel trend, in contrast to the global trend opening and living with Coronavirus.
The international business lobby group has warned Hong Kong to lose talent and investment, as well as competitive land to rival rival financial hubs such as Singapore, unless it relaxes restrictions on travel.
Although almost no local and environmental cases are recently free of Covid-19, Hong Kong has enacted a required hotel quarantine up to 21 days for the arrival of most countries with tourist costs.
Those who tested positively received immediately at the hospital regardless of their condition.
Since last month they were asked to spend 14 days further at the designated facility after leaving the hospital.
