Hong Kong tycoon Jimmy Lai sentenced to 14 Weeks for October 1 unauthorised assembly

HONG KONG: Jailed Hong Kong media tycoon and Beijing critic Jimmy Lai has been sentenced to a further 14 weeks in prison Friday for building an unauthorised meeting on Oct.
1, 2019, throughout one of the town’s pro-democracy rallies which year.
Judge Amanda Woodcock presented the sentence from the District Court.
Last past month, Lai – that is currently operating a 14-month sentence for engaging in similar presentations on Aug.
18 and Aug.
31, 2019 – and eight additional activists pleaded guilty for having an unauthorised meeting.
