Dharwad: HR Hospital, Dharwad succeeded with the Seven Hills Rotary Club, Dharwad has entered the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to start a new milk bank at Hospital Hospital.
This is the fourth milk bank in the state.
The first three milk banks were in Bengaluru, Beleagavi and Mangaluru.
This milk bank will function in a great way if you lack mother’s milk.
Bank milk is a new concept on blood bank lines.
The purpose of the SDM-Rotary milk bank is not only to serve babies at HR Hospital but also for babies of civilian hospitals, Dharwad and other edge hospitals, said Dr.
Pallavi Deshpande, President of Rotary Seven Hills.
SDM University Vice-Chancellor Dr.
Niranjan Kumar and Dr Pallavi signed the MoU.
Dr.
Pallavi said it was observed that many children were seized from breast milk which were considered elixir of life.
Therefore, the milk bank will be arranged here.
The total bank fee was $ 77,000 in which $ 15,000 dollars was contributed by Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank and the remaining amounts funded by the Rotary Club Seven Hills and several clubs in the US.
Pasteurization machines have been imported from Sweden because breast milk donated by nursing mothers must be stored in minus 30 degrees Celsius.
HR Hospital has contributed space to prepare a milk bank and this will meet the needs for urban and rural babies who need breast milk.
It has also been decided to open a satellite center in a civil hospital.
Mother’s milk will be offered free to demand babies, said Dr.
Pallavi.
