Noida / Ghaziabad: Hospitals in Noida and Ghaziabad will turn into Covid facilities in phases and not all at once if there is a wave in the case.
Officials said the district had been instructed to make Covid hospitals – ready to progress with the number of cases.
During the last two waves, many hospitals were converted into Covid facilities even when the number of patients was lacking.
There are many hospitals where only one or two covid patients are accepted for days.
But even though there are so many beds lying empty, there is no room for non-covid patients at the facility.
This causes a lot of discomfort among general patients and their relatives.
Officials in Noida plan to turn hospitals into Covid facilities in three phases.
“In the first phase, when the number of patients was around 10% of the peak in the second wave, four public health centers in Bibrakh, Bhangel, Dadri and the Shares would be activated.
Along with this, the Hospital of Noida Covid and GIMs will recognize a referral case from this four CHC.
, “said a senior health official.
At 25% of the previous wave peak, Sharda Hospital, L3 facilities, will be available for covid patients.
In the third and final phase, when cases were at 60%, all 31 government and private hospitals would function as Covid facilities, officials said.
In Ghaziabad, officials said the Ministry of Health had begun to make arrangements so there was no shortage of beds, oxygen, and drugs.
“The instructions have been given to the authorities concerned to make adequate arrangements and tell the government about how the district plans to involve hospitals in the treatment of Covid patients gradually,” said RK Gupta, district supervision officer in Ghaziabad.
“According to the initial plan, public health center and primary and Santosh Hospital, a L3 facility, will be activated in the first phase.
Furthermore, the Joint County Hospital and several private hospitals will be converted into Covid facilities.
At the third level, most hospitals in Regency will be available to recognize Covid patients, “he added.
The need for strong health infrastructure planning was felt during the deadly second wave in April and May this year.
Cannot get a bed or oxygen support in the hospital, a number of serious patients were forced to recover at home.
Even in hospitals, there are severe oxygen shortages.
