Hospital ink pact with a crowdfunding platform to help patients in need

Nagpur: Trust that runs four hospitals – two each in Nagpur and Wardha – has raised more than the RS22 lakh for three patients in need through three campaigns started by crowdfunding agents.
The success of the campaign leads to the first setting of its kind where the Meghe Hospital group signs the MoU with a fundraising platform, Ketto.org, to start crowdfunding for patients in need.
The four hospitals – Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rustic Hospital and a little special center, both in Wardha, and the Shalinitai Meghe research center and Nelson Hospital in Nagpur, will now have a kiosk manned by Ketto.org representatives to start medical crowdfunding.
The Chief Executive Group, Dr.
Sandeep Shrivastava, said that the emergency case would not be delayed and the patient would receive complete treatment even when the crowdfunding campaign continued.
He said that some critical procedures, including organ transplants or neuro operations, are not covered or have limits under the government scheme.
“In such situations, patients struggled to regulate funds and some were forced to move to a government hospital,” he said.
Babies a month with brain enlargement received assistance RS5.74 lakh while RS2.74LH has so far been raised for two-month-old babies.
“The two patients were assisted by other crowdfunding agents, Milaap, even though we did not have bond with them.
Now, we will start with Kitto,” said Dr.
Shrivastava.
Dr.
Shrivastava said that last year informal crowdfunding had helped increase RS14LAKH for a 17-year-old boy.
The boy has total paralysis and his family cannot get expensive care.
The press release issued by the Group said that the company worked closely with hospitals, NGOs and individuals to bring positive change in the community.
At present, Kitten campaign increases more than RS300 Crore per year for various causes, read.
“With about 80% of the population without a form of health insurance and 63% of the out-of-pocket medical costs, most families spend all their savings and borrow money with high interest rates to cover medical costs.
Medical Crowdfunding is an alternative choice for those who are very Requires money.
The Ketto Crowdfunding platform has launched more than one million fundraising for medical campaigns from the start, raising more than $ 600 million, “he said.
