HOSPS returns RS22L, but Covid bills are worth crores still delayed: VHA

Nagpur: After social workers and politicians caused an excessive edition of patients during the second Covid-19 wave, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) punished several private hospitals which finally returned the amount of excessive bills.
Now, according to Vidarbha Hospitals Association (VHA), hundreds of hospitals have not received payments from patients who default on Covid treatment bills and the number goes to Crores.
Dr.
Ashok Arbat, Chair of the Vidarbha Hospital Association, said that more than 140 Covid Hospitals, only six who had details submitted on the delayed date and the number was RS2 Crore.
“That means comprehensive numbers will be very high,” he said.
VHA, Nagpur Branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and NMC representatives have formed a committee to deal with excessive billing issues.
More than 50% of 614 complaints of excessive bills that nest with NMC are found inappropriate.
The Civic body ignored this complaint while 25 complainants had attracted their request.
According to Vha Convener Dr.
Anup Marar, until now, 69 hospitals in the city have returned RS22 lakh to patients.
“But who will be responsible for cleaning the hospital bill circulating from a defaulter patient?” She says.
He demanded that the absence must be individually called to complete the payment in his compass under the same law applied to the hospital.
Dr.
Sanjay Deotale, President of Nagpur Ima, said that many hospitals were pressurized to forget the amount of balance.
“Many accept only minimal payments when the authorities have warned us not to look for full progress at the time of receipt.
At the time of the dismissal or death of a patient, called social workers and politicians will suppress us to reduce or release the number of bills.
We do not receive assistance From NMC or any authority during that time, “he said.
