Chandigarh: A former violator between BJP and Congress members in Dumping Dadumajra on Saturday, heated up political temperatures in a city that shivered in the urban corporation (MC).
It all began when Secretary General AICC Randeep Singh Surjewala and former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal reached the site for a press conference.
Within a few minutes BJP workers hold the flag arrived.
BJP workers, especially women, marched to the leaders of Congress.
Even though the police were deployed, workers from the two parties began to raise the slogan to each other.
At one point, female workers even exchanged blows.
However, the police separated them.
Reacting to the Congress press conference at Dumping Ground, former BJP President Sanjay Tandon said, “Dumping Ground is the gift of Congress to a beautiful city.
This is the biggest mistake in Chandigarh MC’s history.” Congress criticized the protest, called it an attempt to hold opposition sounds.
Rajiv Sharma, Chandigarh Congress spokesman, said this shows the fascist mindset of BJP leaders.
