Coimbatore: A rich hotel was arrested on Sunday by rural police because it was alleged to deceive RS 3 Lakh’s textile shop owner by posing as a central government officer in Sirumugai on December 21 last year.
Hoteler, from Sirumugai, was booked below Section 419 (penalty for cheating with personation) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly encouraged property delivery) from the Criminal Code.
Rajkumar, 46, has more than three cars and agriculture.
11:00 on December 21, Rajkumar landed in a luxury car with a ‘Indian government’ sticker which was inserted on the windshield, in front of Silks Muthusamy in Sirumugai.
The central government of the officer, Rajkumar asked the textile shop owner, M Nagaraj, to provide an account for verification.
Claiming the difference in account, Rajkumar threatened to seal the store and demand Rs 3 Lakh not to do it.
Afraid, Nagaraj gave Rs 3 lakh to Rajkumar.
Meanwhile, Nagaraj approached Police Sirumugai who registered a case against Rajkumar on Saturday and arrested him on Sunday.
He was produced in front of Judicial Judges and returned in court custody.
