Pune: The number of hotspot villages in Pune Zilla Parishad’s jurisdiction increased to 91 on Monday from 84 in about a week.
A village that has 10 Covid cases actively categorized as hotspot villages in the district.
ZP has recorded an increase in such villages in Khed and Junnar Tehsils for the first time in the past month, an official said.
Dr.
BB Gadve, Health Office of Tehsil Khed, said, “This is a solid industrial and densely populated village.
People who live in these villages go to various places to work and come into contact with many people.
This can be one reason for a surge In the case.
“A senior official ZP Health said,” All health workers have been instructed to carry out massive tests when more active cases are recorded in their limits.
