Google Chromebooks – which recently became quite popular in the global PC market – may soon run on the chipset designed by Google.
As reported by Nikkei Asia, the company is developing a processor for laptops and tablets-powered OS Chrome.
The report quoted three sources with knowledge of the problem that gave the tentative timeline to launch such a device in 2023.

In his report, Nikkei Asia said, “Google was specifically inspired by Apple’s success in developing the main semiconductor components for the iPhone and last year’s announcement that it would replace Intel CPU with its own offerings for Mac and Laptop computers.” To remember, Apple has been producing iPhone in-house chipsets long ago with the iPhone 4 in 2010 and made the first offering for Mac computer last year.
For Google, using its own processor in Chromebook will be a grace for product lineup because it will make it easier for companies to enter their own features into the chip that can meet the specific needs.
Talking about this chipset, this report adds that a new CPU is set to be based on the sleeve chip blueprint.
